Aion in a Dilemma?!

- KeyWord: Aion, WoW, beta, gameplay, system requirement, screenshots, graphic
- Summary: When I recalled the stirring advertising campaigns of Aion(CN): The Tower of Eternity, I can't help feeling sorry for the ordinary response it received today since open beta. What's worse is that World of Warcraft, Aion developer swore to defeat, stole its thunder with a wet finger by putting on an operator-changing show. What on earth is the problem?

The first CG of Aion: The Tower of Eternity released quite a few years ago
First: Demanding System Requirements.
Let's look at the official system requirements first:
Minimum System Requirements:
CPU: Pentium4 2.8G or above /AMD Sempron 2800 or above
RAM: 512MB or above
Graphic Card: GeForce 5700/Radeon9600 or above
Disk Space: 20GB or above
OS: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista Directx 9.0C
Recommended System Requirements:
CPU: Pentium4 3.0G or above /AMD Athlon 64 3000 or above
RAM: 1G or above
Graphic Card: GeForce 6600/Radeon X1550 or above
Disk Space: 20GB or above
OS: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista Directx 9.0C
Some players might think the requirement is not off limits, saying that their computers are even good enough to run two accounts at the same time. However, we have to think about the average PC specs of players. In most cases, they are still using computers with Pentium4 CPU, 512M RAM and inferior graphic card. Few of them would upgrade their hardware just for a single online game and although the computers in some internet cafés can manage to run the game, the effect would also be miserable.

Honestly, even with all special effects on, I still think it just looks so-so.
What complicates the situation is that the claimed system requirement is far from practical. After a few tests, it was found out that it would be agonizing to play Aion if your computer only has 512M RAM, no matter how great the other components are. With one-digit FPS, the game would look like cartoon strips. You can imagine how suck it would be.
The system requirement will prevent approximately 25% of the players from playing Aion. Even if there are some players who manage to get in, they would probably find that Aion is not as perfect as they ever imagined.
