Last May 19, Exteel the 3D MMO shooter of NCsoft opened its South East Asian servers for its Open Beta Test. It seems that SEA players would finally get to taste the thrill and excitement of handling their own mechas.

I was one of the people who got to play the CBT of the game and it seems that there was a smooth transition from the CBT to the OBT. However, there has been cases where lag spikes happen that some players reach their pings to the thousands (three thousand is the max ping for players in Exteel) which affects not only them but also the whole game.

Though this may not be the problem of the server, it would be a really annoying problem for players if this continues. The sudden influx of players into the Exteel servers may cause problems for them as the game continues with the operation.

The SEA server still has a lot of catching up to do with its predecessor, the US server. But it seems that the game has fared off with its OBT running very smoothly.

The iCoins shop (Exteel's premium item shop) is still out so players can't fully use the setup they had in the CBT. However, it seems that players are able to use the above decent armor sets that just cost around 1 credit per day (credit is the in-game currency of Exteel) to at least alleviate the lack of higher tier armors that they can use.
