In a press briefing on May 12th, Ding shared his opinion on WoW taking over as well on NetEase's pig farm, Donations for Sichuan earthquake (2008).

"We are planning pig farm for pig rising for Sichuan disaster area"

On February 18th, 2009, Ding announced that Netease would invest at least CNY10 million to set up a pig farm in Zhejiang province and establish a website to connect the Internet industry with agricultural pursuits. Many media companies are interested in HOW NetEase' pig farm looks like now. And Ding gave an explanation like follows:
"We are planning this farm for Sichuan disaster area rebuilding. Besides money, people also need knowledge and technology. Pig rising and subsidiary pork products can bring real profits to pig raiser. What's more, we found that raising pigs can drive the development of crop farming and tourism which provides employment chances."

While talking about teaming up with Blizzard Enterainment to license and operate World of Warcraft from NCTY(The 9), Ding compares NTES to a Chinese tea house which previously target on fulfilling tea lovers' drink. Taking over WoW license is like selling coffee in tea house, they want to satisfy more customers.
