During an event in the UK today, Bill Roper revealed that Champions Online will officially launch on July 14th 2009 in both the United State and Europe. Champions Online is a MMOG in development by Cryptic Studios, the same developer who created City of Heroes and City of Villains, based on the Champions pen and paper RPG.

Based on the popular pen-and-paper Champions RPG, Champions Online will offer a near infinite amount of ch aracter customization so that all players will have a unique game experience. Gamers will be able to create their hero's name, back story, costume, powers and abilities as well as design their own personal arch-enemy and his or her back story. Champions Online is currently in open beta.
