Funcom has released the first trailer and screenshots from The Secret World, showcasing this MMO which takes place in our own, modern-day world. Granted, it's all CG (not in-game engine) rendered, but since the game, The Secret World is a planned MMO for PC & the Xbox 360, it will obviously look very different to play. But that's not really the point of the trailer, which is to get everyone excited about this new game.
Players can explore locations such as New York, London, and Shanghai, as they unravel the mysteries, legends and myths that make up our world and its history. Players will have the freedom to become whatever they want to be and play however they want to play, allowing them to explore the world at will and master anything from voodoo and black magic to martial arts and modern firearms.
Secret World will be using the same engine as 'Age of Conan' and "takes place on Earth in the present day" said Funcom project director Jorgen Tharaldsen. There are still no details on the game play yet, but the trailer got me all hyped up about the game. Hopefully the game is as good as the concept.
