I believe that you remembers the zombie event of World of Warcraft a few days earlier quite well. If you were worried that the zombie apocalypse was all Blizzard had up their sleeves for the launch of World of Warcraft's Wrath of the Lich King expansion, then you may want to log in right about now! Arthas is currently inflicting his wrath upon the world of Azeroth and indulge in ballyhoo in his coming, starting with the Horde capital city of Orgrimmar. And you can find Alliance version in Stormwind. If you missed the event on your server, don't worry, it appears to be repeating roughly every 20 minutes.
The attack on the Horde faction kicks off with a sizable army of Aboms and Frost Wyrms laying waste to Orgrimmar, while Orc warchief Thrall battles Garrosh Hellscream in the city's Ring of Valor -- and loses. The reason is that they had an argument over whether tribe should send army to Northrend hurriedly. The leader of the Forsaken Undead, Lady Sylvanas, can also be found defending the Orc stronghold from the Scourge assault.
In the meanwhile, although it's still relatively quiet on the Alliance front, the buildup to a similar attack also appears to be in motion. King Varian Wrynn can be found in Stormwind Harbor planning his next move, along with several other notable NPCs from the Alliance faction. Apparently, the Tribe version is more full of drama and excitement. Interestingly, there's a large book left open on the table in front of them, displaying a map of Azeroth as we know it, but with one exception: a fourth continent, south of the swirling Maelstrom at the map's center. Perhaps Blizzard has already begun hinting at their next expansion?
What better way to provoke players into heading into the frozen north than sacking their hometowns? We'll have more on the Wrath of the Lich King world event as it unfolds.
