1- Change yourself.

Before you start complaining about the game, If you see that the general environment in the game is all just the silent type,no one talks, just grind, you may for example start spreading smiles and initiate greetings with players to create a friendly environment. No matter what language or nationality the players might be, they would still understand words such as "hi and Hello" also tell your friends to do the same and go on a smiling rampage for crying out loud!
If you change how you think then you will change how you feel and what actions you take. And so the world around you will change.
If you see that no one helps in quests ,or that Noobs are being picked on, you may start being sweet to them by helping them. Remember this noob will reserve the memories of his first experience and it will affect his long term gaming experience, so why not create a positive player by showing how genuine and friendly you are?
It takes time to change, some people are able to change in one day ,others are unable to change at all, and some keep swinging , you have to find it either in yourself, from friends or seeking professional help.
2- You are in control.
"Nobody can hurt you without your permission."
I have always allowed people to take advantage of me and hurt me because of the way I used to respond to it, this is from a personal perspective, as of the gaming perspective, when someone use me to level them, or give them some money ( gold) or scam me, or make fun of me coz I am not a good PVPers ,online bullies or those who curse and say the F word bluntly. I used to go to the room cry and feel terrible because I haven't done anything to them so why are they are acting so terrible with me? for some time I started acting very hostile with people around me in real life so I can build enough grudge to go and curse those online players back! Of course it is a complete wrong approach. And I lately came to know that the only way to handle it is by either being polite (forgiveness is the sweetest revenge)! Or by ignoring them completely like they don't even exist ( they will shrink in their own bubble) but if those players affect the general gaming environment of course they must be reported to the Game Master (GM), please use your (print scrn/sys Rq) key from the keyboard and screenshot it when they use offensive language and send it to Game Master , that's the best way to remove the cancer from spreading and affecting others.
What you feel and how you react to something is always up to you. There may be a "normal" or a common way to react to different things. But that's mostly just all it is.
You can choose your own thoughts, reactions and emotions to pretty much everything. You don't have to freak out, overreact of even react in a negative way.
