There are few games that catch my attention as AION has. So getting the chance to sit down and get approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted play time inside the world of AION was like a dream come true.
Settling into our seats, I quickly teamed up with two of my friends and we coordinated to form a group. I chose to play as Elyos, the healer, and the team was rounded out with a ranger and our main tank. Being a Lineage II player for many years, I was afraid that I'd see the same dark elf woman and human male models running around. That fear was dispelled immediately. I don't think I've had so much fun making a character since City of Heroes. The customization options were incredible and so detailed, that it is almost assured that no two AION characters will look alike. Being naturally vertically challenged, I slid my character's height bar all the way to the bottom and entered game.
After anxiously waiting for the loading screen to clear, we were treated to a visually appealing and graphically stunning world. Character movement was fluid and the animations and emotes were fantastic! I hit the /angry emote and my little red-headed pixie character was flailing her arms and stomping her feet in a huge circle. The User Interface wasn't clunky and was very intuitive.
