Sliding online: What? I thought i was for a console
Sure recently there has been sort of a dive in the world of MMO for those games who originally were meant for nothing more than home platform playing. Some could say that this is a bad thing, and to be honest I#DY#m really unclear as to why it would be. Then again I have not really dug as deep as I should have on this topic, moreover I would like to show a certain perspective or view point rather on what is going on.
Let it be known that there are some games that just should not be converted into mmo from the console, and no I will not list them for I do not wish to step on any one#DY#s toes out there. However for the most part there are a lot of games that are on the console I am more than positive most wish would convert into a package for an mmo deal. Not because they are lonely playing it at home alone, but more along the lines of bored.

To be frank I#DY#m rather shocked that the majority of the games wanting to convert so early are more along the lines of serious genre instead of that loopy kiddish stuff that a lot of us love to play(myself included.) For example Sonic Heroes would be an excellent game to bring over into the MMO world not only would it allow more people to play and use different characters, but with MMO#DY#s patching capabilities for Sonic fans this would be an amazing triumph.
Am i shocked that First person Shooters are high on the list of converting? Not at all in fact that was one of the most obvious choices on what was going to come over it was all a matter of time. This does not include the wide variety of FPS that we already have on MMO#DY#s now, but the competition is "heating up" for that category shall we say. For example there may be a few people who don#DY#t play MMO#DY#s that know of the FPS#DY#s available online, but pretty much everyone knows about titles such as: Rainbow Six (an old classic but still good, and wouldn#DY#t be too surprised if it makes a comeback in the MMO world)
However it is unfair to place Sonic heroes and Rainbow six in the same general field when it comes to the online transfer, being that Sonic Heroes is not a one player console game, and that is the general focus of this article: One player console games coming online. Now I say to all of you what would be the big problem with this? I#DY#m completely positive someone out there knows, it could flood the MMO community with useless clutter being that they have things like X-Box live if one really wants to go online with their game, and it could just create lethargy within the creators of MMO#DY#s to stop trying and stop caring.

That would be one point of view on the matter, but personally I think it would strain the creators of our fabulous MMO world to make even better games that could in fact blow console games out of the water no matter how much they try to improve. Of course this would be a complicated and mind numbing task for them, but no doubt they would get it done. It would decrease the chances of flops in the world of MMO#DY#s simply because they would think they could not risk having one.(personal opinion ) Competition, competition, competition, I can#DY#t stress this enough.
No company or person for that matter wants another person or company to come in and rain on their parade, showing others that they can and will do better than the original. So I say let the creators sweat for a little while and be stressed over what they really need to focus on. Besides if games do convert over to the online status(more games I mean) we could possibly get some great titles on our end.

As for the fighting game DoA converting over it#DY#s the same principle of having a Vs match with one of your friends who is in the same room, or actually a tournament with a group of friends around you: Reputation! Everyone will want to be the "big cheese"(honestly who doesn#DY#t want to go around beating up random people online for fun?) and have the highest kill to death ratio, so bringing titles like DoA, KoF, Street Fighter, etc....would be not only a great idea for the respective companies who own them, but an amazing profit unless they completely destroy the games in the process(which can happen.)
So all in all I think it#DY#s a great idea and that the MMO creators should sweat it out just a little, just a little.
