Four years have passed since World of Warcraft official launched in 2004. In four years, World of Warcraft has become the one of the most famous MMORPGs. The last numbers from Blizzard were in Jan 2008 stating that WOW has passed the 10 million mark. According to this 10 million mark, many players questioned whether World of Warcraft has peaked. Meanwhile, another highly anticipated MMORPG came out. Age of Conan, which was launched May 20th in the US and May 23rd in Europe, has attracted much favorable attention to players. On June 6th, Funcom was proud to announce that Age of Conan will pass the astounding "One Million Copies Shipped" milestone.
"Sales data shows that Age of Conan is the biggest MMO launch since World of Warcraft," says Funcom Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Morten Larssen. "The numbers are very promising, and we are very proud to be one of the fastest selling PC games ever in a launch month and the biggest simultaneous Europe/US MMO launch in history."
