The website of Ten Ton Hamster talks with Ray Cheon of Nexon about the  highly anticipated MMOG Mabinogi.

"Mabinogi was developed by devCat, which is located in Korea, so it took a lot of organization and effort to keep everyone on the same page and to keep the project on schedule. With the time difference between our office in the US and Korea, there were plenty of late nights! The job was hard but definitely worth it as we see players really becoming enraptured in the fantasy life."

Answers by: Ray Cheon, Product Manager and Senior Associate for Game Planning and Design for Nexon

1. What sort of players should be interested in Mabinogi? Is this a game that anyone can play, or does it take a special person, a MapleStory fan for example, to get into the game play?

Mabinogi is an easy game to start but hard to master. Mabinogi players are not pressured to level up their characters or to equip their characters with the best unique items. If players get tired of battling monsters, they can fish by a river, share delicious food and create and play music with other players around a campfire. However, if a player wants to excel at one thing, say sorcery for example, a player must spend time training on all magic-related skills and strategize for various situations. He or she has to figure out when to use which magic skills against different monsters. Basically, whether you are a hardcore gamer or a casual gamer, anyone can enjoy Mabinogi because there are so many things you can do and have fun.

2. Nexon is becoming fairly well known for your incredibly entertaining player events. Are you planning on continuing that trend with Mabinogi? If so, is there a large player event coming up anytime soon?

Yes, we always try to come up with fun events for players to participate in by releasing at least one or two events every month.

Currently, we are hosting the following events for our players:

1. Generation 1 Events: Players are awarded for making their own version of Mabinogi game guide, and finishing G1 Mainstream Quests.

2. The Amazing Race of Mabinogi: Players are awarded with in-game items if they finish a race.

3. Fishing Contest: Players are awarded for catching the biggest fish every weekend.

4. Mother's Day event: Players are encouraged to make special music for their mothers using our Composer function on the website. We are going to pick the best ones and send flowers to their mothers.

This is just a small part of our event plans. And, we will definitely have more cool events for our players when G2 is released
