Leipzig/Singapore - December 5, 2007 - After a successful debut in September 2007, the organizers of Games Convention Asia (GCA) today announced the date of next year's show as the exhibition and conference moves to become a must attend event for PC and video games in the Asia-Pacific region. The second GCA will take place in Singapore, October 9-12, 2008, with the GC Asia Conference (GCAC) being held alongside October 9-10. GCA is the only platform for the booming interactive entertainment industry in the Asia-Pacific region with the first show drawing more than 70,000 international visitors.
The main focus of GCA, which will be held again at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre, is the public exposition and business area, where product presentations of the latest industry innovations will be held as well as the promotion of international business contacts and the creation of business solutions. Companies from 13 countries exhibited at GCA 2007, among them Asiasoft, Electronic Arts, Nintendo, Nokia and Sony.
"We will further the successful concept of having distinct public exhibition and business areas and add additional networking tools to create the optimal environment for both consumer interaction, and business development in the region," said Jorg Zeissig, general manager of the organizer, Leipziger Messe International (LMI), a subsidiary of the Leipziger Messe. "To enhance the cooperation with our local industry partners, we plan to open a branch office in Singapore in early 2008."
