Good news from our developers: No Character Wipe Necessary
Flagship Studios gives green light. All character bugs will be resolved
14 November 2007, Singapore. IAHGames is pleased to announce that the much-awaited patch for Hellgate: London will be implemented on the South East Asian servers without a need for a character wipe.
The launch of Hellgate: London was a worldwide simultaneous launch with the USA, but due to time zone differences, the SEA launch was actually ahead of the USA by one day, resulting in the SEA servers having a slightly different software build compared to the USA.
"Patch 0 was intended to bring SEA servers to the same level of features as the USA servers, but this was complicated by the database already being filled with in-game data of gamers and thus running the risk of data corruption," said Roland Ong, CEO of IAHGames.
"Following requests by gamers, IAHGames has worked around the clock with valued partners Flagship Studios and Hanbitsoft to avoid having a character wipe upon implementation of Patch 0,"added Ong.
"We have refused to accept a character wipe as a viable solution. Hence, we are pleased to reveal that Flagship´s engineers are currently implementing solutions that will not require a wipe of player characters," said Bill Roper, CEO of Flagship Studios.
IAHGames is looking to complete all these improvements by 22 November 2007.
SEA servers will also be simultaneously upgraded to the latest patch 0.1, which is equivalent to what is currently on US and EU servers. IAHGames will be working closely with Flagship Studios and Hanbitsoft to reward gamers in appreciation of their understanding and support during the launch of Hellgate: London.
