# 3: Only the Chosen Will Survive
Insane in Gears of War, Legendary in Halo, God Mode in God of War, and Expert in Guitar Hero. They have been put in the game for individuals who strive to be better than the average gamer. Some of these hardest difficulty modes are trickier than others, but in the end, the feeling that one gets from knowing that they completed a game set on the hardest mode offered by its creators is awesome.
On top of blasting through a game on the hardest difficulty setting, at any time the player can create their own challenges. Try to run through Resident Evil with only a knife. Like stealth gameplay? Complete any Splinter Cell game without killing or knocking out an enemy. The concept of setting a goal is where Microsoft has struck gold. They know how meticulous gamers are when it comes to their favorite games. Adding points to increase time in the game and give the player a reason to try for the impossible is genius. It is similar to someone saying to you "I bet you can´t do this," and you reply with "we´ll see about that."
Examples: Pretty much any game ever made.

# 2: The All Nighter Troof
The term "all nighter" is usually in reference to a student´s last ditch effort to prepare for a big test the next day. That is until the student becomes a gamer. From that point on, the term has new meaning and it may just involve curb stomping Locust. The gaming experience can be so immersive that time is literally lost. Minutes and hours pass without notice. The next thing you know its 5 A.M. and you have to leave for work or school at 8. What happened? An excellent game is what happened. Since things are going so well, calling in sick is always an option. Besides not showing up gives us more time to get more experience points to reach that next level.
