The Development team at Auran has been watching, playing and listening to everything fans have had to say. In a bold move they´ve decided to make some BIG changes in preparation for Fury´s release on October 16. Their whole design mantra has been simple: "evenly matched battles are more fun". Yet feedback from the 2 Million dollar Fury Challenge has been loud and clear; even with Rank limits imposed, the gap between new players and experienced players is too great. Throughout, beta they´ve tweaked and modified things to an extent in an attempt to get players into the mix faster. However, the time has come to make some more far reaching changes and ensure Fury is fun all players from the very start.
These changes are designed to make Fury easier to learn and more fun for new players. Additionally, they reduce the grind and increase the interest, competition and fairer fights for all players. Most of the changes outlined below will be implemented for release, but some may need to be held back until they are more thoroughly tested.
The following is a list of the major changes planned:
New players start at a competitive level
Incarnation rank will no longer exist. Instead, all Avatars and Incarnations have 1000 equip points available to them. This means new players can hit as hard as veterans. Additionally, new players have an offensive and defensive bonus to help them through their first few fights.
Avatar Rank now determined by skill not time played
Your rank title, which is currently determined by Rank Points (formerly Combat Excellence Points), is instead based on by your skill rating (the score that also determines your position on ladders). This will make titles much more meaningful and serve as visual recognition of actual skill, not time played.
