On 17th September, Beijing News is reporting that a Chinese man collapsed and died over the weekend after playing online games nonstop for three days.

The report doesn´t mention the man´s name. The Beijing News just reported the man was 30 years pld and fainted at a cybercafe in the city of Guangzhou.

The report said that about 100 other Web surfers "left the cafe in fear after witnessing the man´s death."

China has 140 million Internet users, second only to the United States. It is one of the world´s biggest markets for online games, with tens of millions of players, many of whom hunker down for hours in front of PCs in public Internet cafes.

The Chinese government in July unveiled a new policy requiring online game operators to force cybercafe gamers to register with their ID card numbers, making it easier for the state to keep tabs on what users are doing.
