Maticus, one of the World of Warcraft players, posted a topic with an absorbing title "Is Role-Playing Dead?" .
"I have a character on an RP server, I like my immersion so I figured it would be more realistic. I must admit, in the cities you do occasionally see groups of people role playing, and there´s always a protocol one "should" follow when speaking to others. However, as you progress through the game, there seems to be less and less time for meeting with others, just to chat in-character. There´s the all-important raiding to be done, and grinding for cash to pay for repairs etc." He said.
He also mentioned an article about the failing pass-time that is Role Playing in on-line games.
Toward this post, players reacted differently. "I like roleplaying, however I always find it difficult to really be able to immerse myself into roleplaying in an online game, as the roleplaying always feels detached from the game itself, something external, and not something which really fits into the game. " Another player said.
Do you immerse yourself into roleplaying in an online game? or do you have less and less time for meeting with others?
