Vivendi´s games business was the standout in its second-quarter earnings announcement today.
The official press release announces that the parent company of Vivendi Games and Blizzard had a 6.4 percent increase in revenues for the first half of this year(13.97 billion dollars).
Due to other aspects of the company, the actual profits were down 49 percent from the same period in last year. However, the strong success of World of Warcraft´s latest expansion pack, The Burning Crusade, strengthened results.
The firm´s games business saw a 91.9 percent increase in revenue year-over-year to 162.67 million dollars, as World of Warcraft reached the 9 million subscriber mark.
