At ChinaJoy 2007, Flagship Studios showcased its upcoming MMORPG title Mythos and received an interview from game.tom.com. In the interview, Bill Roper made comparisons between Mythos, Hellgate: London and Diablo series.
According to Bill Roper, Mythos is a casual style MMORPG, while Hellgate: London is a title oriented toward Diablo fans who are fond of experiencing high technology. Mythos developers are the core members of Diablo series development team. During Mythos development, they drew a lot of experience from Diablo. Bill Roper even claimed that Mythos is the most genuine Diablo sequel.
“We
re very confident that," said Bill, "Mythos is the most genuine Diablo title. If someday in the future, Blizzards released Diablo 3, Ill be too willing to experience it. But I believe before it comes out, all the Blizzard staff are already loyal supporters of Mythos."
When being asked, with Hellgate: London and Mythos out on the market, what will Flagship Studios leave to Blizzard if its going to develop Diablo 3. Bill said: "Nothing!"
