Recently, Korean police have been busy investigating the issues relating to the interruption of Lineage 3 development.

In February, the Lineage 3 development team leader Yong-Hyun Park at NCsoft was removed from his position by NCsoft. It is said that his inefficiency in the operation of human resources and the failure in producing significant content in the last 14 months are the main factors that contribute to his removal. Some Lineage 3 development staff left together with him. Therefore, the Lineage 3 development work has stopped.

The police searched Yong-Hyun Parks newly founded company, investigated the former Lineage 3 development staff that left NCsoft with Yong-Hyun Park and confiscated their personal computers. In addition, the police also searched the companies founded by other former Lineage 3 development staff, NCsoft and several other concerned companies.

The police refused to disclose any further information concerning the investigation. According to a police officer, the investigation is related to the interruption of Lineage 3 development, however, the investigation is still in its initial stage and its not convenient for them to reveal anything at the moment.

According to an NCsoft staff, the core technology of Lineage 3 may have been leaked at the time when the project was terminated and the police are investigating NCsoft as well.

It is said that the police have obtained some evidences that Yong-Hyun Park transferred Lineage 3 materials oversea when leaving NCsoft.
