Corum Online Interview
KeyWord: Corum Online, Interview Date: 04-10-2007
Summary: Corum Online Interview with Jason Park---Producer of Gala-Net Inc

In the past couple of years, Corum Online has been one of the top-ranked games in the Japanese and Korean Markets. The game has a flurry of quests and a very unique PvP system which consists of battles for the control of certain dungeons that can be controlled by guilds. The game also provides potential for lots of customization for the players. The PvP system is very unique for Corum Online and it is based on gaining and maintaining the possession of certain dungeons that are scattered throughout the world of Corum. Each of these types of "siege dungeons" provide the owner with either beneficial items or materials that can be used to create unique items. Corum Online also has thousands of items that a player can get in order to improve their characters skills, attributes, or their looks. Players can also learn the skills of a different class.

MMOSITE.COM: To introduce Corum Online, what kind of online world will it be? Why did you decide to bring Corum Online into the U.S. Market? What do you think make Corum Online special?

Jason Park: Hey MMOsite.  Thanks for conducting this interview.  To get things started, we decided to bring Corum Online to the US Market due to its very unique game design.  Specifically the dungeon siege system and the guild levels and rankings add in a lot of strengths to the game and are just what the US market wants.

MMOSITE.COM: The game is very popular in Asia. Have you done a lot of modifications to cater to the U.S. audience? How will the US version look different from the Asian version?

Jason Park: Corum Online actually is running on a different version in each region the game is serviced.  The Japanese version is different from the Taiwanese version, as well as the Korean version.  The English International version was based off of the Japanese version and we have already added many modifications, game design changes, quests details, and are continuing to add more and more almost weekly.

MMOSITE.COM: What kinds of gamers will find Corum Online appealing?

Jason Park: Corum Online gives out a retro RPG feel which I believe older gamers will be very comfortable with.  The game does not require a high end computer like many other games out these days and it focuses very strongly on guild cooperation and player community.

MMOSITE.COM: Can you give our readers some insight into the 6 classes in Corum Online? How do these classes compliment each other in combat and questing?

Jason Park: The 6 classes in Corum Online are the Fighter, Priest, Summoner, Ranger, Sorceress, and the Arcus.  The Summoners and Sorceress are known to do the most damage in the early stages and have the highest damage per second (dps) at first, but at the higher levels, the classes balance out and are determined by how they are spec d in skills, stats, and how well the player knows how to use them.
