Quest Online™ announced today they have officially changed the name of their fantasy-based MMOG product formerly known as CRUSADE to ALGANON™.
"This name change was necessary to set us apart from the competition, and allow us to establish new and unique IP with our upcoming MMOG. ALGANON has been in development for nearly a year now, and 2007 is the year that the public will begin to get a taste of what is to come in 2008-2009. We have endeavored to create a new MMOG that utilizes the best of existing games and builds upon the next evolution of community, immersion, and fun," said David Allen, president and co-founder of Quest Online, Inc. "Over the next two years, gamers across the globe will learn about the massive world of Alganon, its history, what it has to offer, and how it will take yet another step in the evolution of MMOGs."
In ALGANON, players will be able to build powerful characters utilizing a new and unique skill and study system combination that blends real-time character growth and action/reaction based play. Representing one of two sides, the Asheroth or the Kujix, ALGANON enhances the current MMOG experience by adding new levels of community and immersion on top of the traditional MMOG feature-set through the Enhanced Account, Family, Library, Deity, Crusade, and Dynasty systems. Designed from the ground up for appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers, ALGANON will attract both PvE and PvP players alike. Featuring a rich history spanning thousands of years, the world of ALGANON offers gameplay in dozens of different realms, all featuring unique immersion, look and feel, tied directly to the history for each realm. With an ancient world rich in magic and inhabited by hundreds of different species, players can move between the two massive continents through a number of transportation methods including airships and transports. Numerous dungeons, ruins, and unexplored realms await for players to explore and conquer.
ALGANON is scheduled for a late 2008 early 2009 release, with BETA taking place in 2008.
