The Official hope 2007 bring better luck with Rise. The Official need to focus on making it easier for a new player to get started.  New vision for 2007 is to start players in their apartment as the game always have, but allow players to take an elevator down to a subway and allow players to use the subway to get to other buildings in the city, all without having to learn to drive a car, learn your way around the city, starting with a loan for a car...

Before the Official can do all that, Microsoft has changed a number of things in the release of DirectX 10 (Windows Vista) that has them scrambling.  Hopefully players will see version 174 released this month with new networking support for DirectX 9 and a completely separate version for DirectX 10 users.
