Howard Marks? letter to all 2Moons players.
KeyWord: 2Moons, letter, Howard Marks, CEO Date: 2007-01-10
Summary: Howard Marks the CEO wrote a letter to all 2Moons players.
We, the members of Acclaim, are here because we believe in an overiding set of principles that drive our business. We are not just working for a living. We are here because we have a mission, one that we believe in with great passion and therefore have set ambitious goals for ourselves.

Our One Principle:
- We believe that you, the player, are at the heart of our company. And that our community is the center core of our games. We want to help bring the best players together in a safe and fun environment. It is our hope that the players will make new friends and participate in a socially responsible manner.

To acheive this, we believe that our games should be free to play so that we can build the largest possible community around them. We choose to earn less per player, but to have more people playing our games. However, our company should be profitable. This way we can continue to publish new games and offer the best service possible. This means including advertising in our games, but without detracting from the gamer?s experience or cutting the fun factor. We will also sell special in-game items for Acclaim Coins, our currency system.

We would like the players to contribute as well:
- Follow our Rules of Conduct
- Follow our Community Guidelines
- Invite your friends to come and play our games and help us grow
- Participate by helping others play our games

Now, for those who do not play by the rules:
- We invest time and energy to prevent hackers from ruining the game experience
- We hire great Game Masters to monitor the chat and respond to player?s complaints
But we all know that this is not a real solution for those who want to cheat or disrupt fun play. Anyone who takes the time to hack or cheat will find a way. It is a cat and mouse game. We hope that our players will not tolerate this and help us weed out the offenders. Better yet, if you are the kind of person who wants to cheat or scam other players for fun, you should understand that you are hurting the very thing you are desiring: Having fun. If you succeed, most people will leave the game and then what ? You gained nothing. We don?t believe in this bragging rights idea, we think you deserve our attention. So here is a challenge for you: Help us make our games safer by telling us how you can break it or telling your friends to stop hacking or cheating. You should support us in our mission to build the best player community. This is bold move for you to take and the right one to do.

On a final note, I would love to hear from you, so please post your responses to my letter and most importantly: Have fun playing our games.

Howard Marks, CEO
