Persistent Worlds Team announced they will shut down Carpe Diem server at 10am CET (central European time) on Thursday 14th December 2006 and the official release will happen on Thursday 14th December 2006 at 13:00 CET.

We are now able to announce that the beta will end at 10am CET (central European time) on Thursday 14th December 2006. We will then apply our latest patch to make some game changes and the official launch will take place on Thursday 14th December 2006 at 13:00 CET.

Of course, this means the end of the pre-order promotion and in order to allow us time to send everyone their benefits, pre-ordering will end on Wednesday 13th December at 18:00 CET.

So, we believe that you are going to be in one of five categories:

CATEGORY ONE:

You are one of the many who have pre-ordered.

You will be sent an e-mail on the 14th December giving you a treasury code which will enable you to collect all of your in-game items (see below).

You will also be sent instructions on where to go to input your pre-order key so that you can keep playing. Your character will not be wiped.

CATEGORY TWO:

You are considering pre-ordering.

What can we do to help you make your mind up?

Well, there are all the in-game benefits of pre-ordering:

- Your character is not wiped
- You get a complete set of steel and chainmail armour
- A magical Fey outfit
- Leather Archer armour and a heartseeker bow
- Dragonblood armour and a magically crafted weapon
- A master of mounts scroll to help protect your mount
- An Amazing Berzerker Fury enhancer
- A money maker that triples the cash that you find
- A great, lively community, with very active involvement from us.

Then there are the game events:

- We will be holding weekly tournaments to find the best races, the best Regiments, and the King?s Champions at every level.
- Throughout the week there will be map invasions, castle sieges, prisoner rescues, Uzziel raids etc.
- There are the nine dungeons in the game. (By the way, congratulations to the Hand of David Regiment for winning all four weapons of legend. Uzziel awaits you! Bwahahaha!)
- Then there are the developments we are working on such as improving the crafting system, creating more PvP content and putting more mayhem into the dungeons.

Hopefully, all of this will help you to make up your mind. But you must sign up by 18:00 CET on Wednesday 13th December at the following site:

CATEGORY THREE:

You have decided to buy once the game goes live.

That?s fine too, the game will be available from Direct2Drive from Friday the 15th December 2006. We will write out with the link next week.

CATEGORY FOUR:

You don?t want to play Carpe Diem but you are happy to beta test our other game for us.

We realise that Carpe Diem may not be to everyones taste, but we have a second game called "9Dragons" that you might be interested in. It is a martial arts based MMO set in ancient China during the Ming dynasty. You journey from humble pupil to master of the martial arts by questing in the land of the middle Kingdom (China). As you have given us your time on Carpe Diem we are happy to invite you to join the beta test for 9Dragons.

To register please visit www.9Dragonsonline.com and add your details. We check all e-mail addresses and if you have beta tested Carpe Diem with us, then we will get an invite out to you for 9Dragons within 48 hours.

CATEGORY FIVE:

You have decided not to continue with Carpe Diem or beta test 9Dragons.

We hope that when we bring our next games to market you will be willing to help us again.

In the interim, whatever you are playing, we hope that you enjoy your gaming.
So, to summarize:

- Pre-order promotion finishes at the 13th December 2006 at 18:00 CET
- Everyone who pre-ordered will be sent an e-mail on the 14th December 2006
- Open beta servers will close down at 10:00 CET on 14th December 2006
- Carpe Diem goes live on 14th December at 13:00 CET!

We are so excited, we can barely contain ourselves! Thanks to all involved and we hope to see you in the lands of Gilead and Ithalamar soon!

The Persistent Worlds Team
