There will be an update for Hero Online at 1am PST Wednesday morning in preparation for the Halloween event along with several (major) changes to the game.
Here are some details regarding both:
Halloween Event:
-Four new masks: in celebration of Halloween, adding four NEW limited edition masks in the Hero Tavern. These masks will take the shape of a: Pumpkin, Skeleton, Frankenstein, and Witch! These masks are only available during Halloween Event so get them while they??re hot.
-Lord Sagun??s Trick or Treat: In preparation for Halloween, Lord Sagun has ordered some of his subordinates to dress up as monsters in the surrounding lands to distribute candies and prizes to all. While the costumes look close enough to the real thing, they??re not exactly the right proportions so they??ll be easy to spot. But watch out! They won??t just GIVE you the candy, you have to work for it!
Also, be sure to speak with Event Manager Mae at Dragon Castle to find out how to earn prizes from the candies the "monsters" drop.

Changes to the game:
Along with the Halloween event hope to make the following changes:
-Key Mapping: players will now have the option of choosing which keys perform which function. Players can control everything from using potions, auto-targeting, to movement using the keyboard!
-Movement controls: along with key mapping, adding the ability to move characters using the keyboard. So, while players COULD use W,A,S,D to move their characters, they also have the option of choosing ANY combination of keys to control movement. (Ex: Regulator likes to use Q,P,Z,M to move his/her character around).
-Widescreen: For players who use widescreen laptops or low resolution screens, adding a new option amongst the resolution choices for your viewing convenience. No more stretchy faces and characters! See how Hero was MEANT to be played!
The size of this patch will be somewhat big, so after the maintenance, please be patient while the client downloads and runs the new client. Manual patches will be available.
There will also be further announcements regarding the WASD function within the game.
