Blizzard announce the launch of the Paid Character Transfer service for World of Warcraft US, the service allows player to move characters from one realms which has been open for 6 months to another. And this sevice has been managed in WOW EU since Aug 10th, 2006.

Based on popular feedback, all new realms will now be eligible for Paid Character Transfers after 6 months of being open, instead of the previous 3 months. Realms not yet open for transfers will remain closed for 6 months, meaning if a realm has been open for 2 months, it will require another 4 months in order to be eligible as a transfer destination realm. All realms which are currently available for transfers will remain available. This extension was made to allow communities on new realms enough time to establish their position on the realm before allowing other characters to join.
