9 Dragons, the first authentic martial arts MMO set in ancient China has gone Beta since Sep. 18th. IGN.com conducted an interview with Acclaim CEO Howard Marks, in which they talked about 9 Dragons’ business model.
Howard Marks said they will display advertisements during play, and the player "has the option at any time to purchase the premium package, which features a list of benefits including no advertisements."
9 Dragons will not adopt the common monthly subscription model. "We have observed that the existing subscription model is limiting the growth of the market. It creates a barrier to entry for many players. It also limits the number of games someone can play at the same time," said Howard Marks.
With the prevailing of advertisements on the Internet, in-game advertisements have gradually become a trend. More and more game companies are introducing in-game ads into their titles. What is your opinion about in-game AD?
