About Joyful Journey West

Joyful Journey West ("JJW") is The9’s first in-house developed MMORPG. This game is a 2D side-scrolling game based on the famous and romantic classical Chinese myth, "The Monkey King". JJW integrates various beautiful scenes, fully configured avatars and a unique quest system into the game universe consisting of "Saints and Devils". Profession setting and character upgrading system add more fun to the game. After more than two years development and five rounds of alpha testing, JJW has been in limited open beta testing since July 15th, 2005 and will enter all-access open beta testing on August 18, 2005.
