Sunday saw a throng of people with full purses assemble at the Livewood Theatre in House Phiarlan. Not even the rain could damper the spirits or the purchasing powers of those who attended and later the sun shone through and everyone dried off in its warm rays.

Many, many goods were available for sale and the bidding was at times extremely fierce. The piece de resistance and the big finale item of the auction - the tome of Wisdom +2 was snapped up by Rafa for over 1.3 million gold! Gasps could be heard from the crowd as these high bids were put forward by the city\‘s richest.
For a bit of fun, Grace Darkling put herself up as a hired hand for one evening\‘s dungeon crawling and fetched a very good price indeed! We\‘re not entirely sure all of the male contingent of the audience fully grasped the specifications of the lot, however I\‘m sure Grace will explain if needs be... Spellswords offered up one of their finest fighters too, although by this point there were only moths in many people\‘s purses.
At the end of the afternoon, Spellswords had one final surprise item up for bidding - a legendary Vorpal Sword. The crowd were shocked at this and many tried to step up to the stage and get a closer look. Security soon intervened however and the crowd controlled. Bidding started off at a cool one million gold which drew further sharp intakes of breath from the audience. This was a hotly contested item. As the blade was about to be sold for around 1.5 million though a stranger appeared from nowhere declaring the sword was his own and had been wrongfully taken from him. A commotion ensued and many people came running to the front to get a better view. This evil human wizard named only Jamulmega stood aloft the secure chest and demanded his blade back. Many were shouting and it was not clear what happened next. Within 10 seconds there were clouds of thick green fog and an almighty commotion - Jamulmega had called up on his Drow friends to come and attack the attendees! The auction-goers fought back bravely and there were minimum casualties. At last order was regained and Jamulmega and his posse were subdued and killed.
It was certainly an event not to be missed. Let\‘s hope the next one is less dangerous! See you there!
